Ten Fingers, Ten Days, and Ten Million Things To Do.

It has been quite a while since I have updated this blog! So much has happened! Let me try to fill you in:

The past term was our 2B Mechanical Engineering term. The common saying around Waterloo is "2B or not 2B an engineer", and they are pretty accurate. It was tough.

The 5 courses we had this term are as follows:
- Mechanics of Deformable Solids II
- PLC Programming
- Ordinary Differential Equations
- Dynamics
- Thermodynamics

... and none of them were easy.

But luckily I had these crazy characters to go through it with:

Pete "The Dreamboat" Hoskin

Jae "Captain Canada" Han

and Brian "The Space Cadet" Scott.

These guys are probably the reason I passed this term. We, collectively, put in more effort than I ever thought we were capable of, and we came to the conclusion that we are pretty much capable of handling whatever challenges they give us from here on out.

Also, I am not sure if this was mentioned earlier, but Jae and Peter are also going to Germany, so they are going to contribute to this blog as well! The three of us are going to have a stellar time. As for Brian, he's camped out in Brampton, making the big bucks, and eating three meals a day, unlike the rest of us.

Also, I should introduce you to some other colourful characters we had the pleasure of meeting this term: our exchange students! We could not have asked for a more fun, charismatic, or adventurous group to head to Europe with. I just hope we did enough for them while we were here, because they have really saved our butts with finding accommodations, getting contracts, and generally speaking German. Here's a few good pictures of us:

They are a great group, and I am certain you will see more of them as this blog progresses!

So there are 10 days until we leave for London, and I have yet to pack anything. This is potentially problematic.

I would assume Jae and Pete are in the same boat, however, so I don't feel too bad.

Actually, Jae was having some VISA troubles, so he may not end up flying over with us, and may have to miss this entire London thing we have planned. For those who do not know, we are heading to London, UK, for four days, seeing some fireworks, catching a few British sites, and maybe even having a pint or two while we are there!

Then we are heading to Stuttgart by plane, and then train to our respective towns where we are working.

I am excited to get over the pond and eat some foreign food and drink some foreign beer!

This is going to be a great adventure!

Catch you soon,

- Brendan
